Here at Bad Wolf we encourage and embrace sustainability in any manner possible.

In a recent effort to ensure that our productions follow this principle, we worked with the His Dark Materials production team to ensure that their costumes from all three seasons were donated to several charities and organisations.

Items included original outfits, accessories and fabrics; all of which will be used by various charities and organisations with a vast range of mission statements across Wales.

A number of fabrics have been sent to Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. The conservatoire takes pride in contributing to the cultural identity of Cardiff and we are delighted to now become a part of the journey for their gifted students.

Collect My Clothes Wales have also been donated many clothes that were used throughout each season so that their second life can be beneficial to different local communities. The charity’s goal is to stop the wasteful nature of the fashion industry and work alongside their partner charities to recycle unwanted items. Donations are always greatly received in order to stop landfills filling and provide more affordable clothing to the lesser fortunate.

Another organisation that we thought fit perfectly with our pieces from the production were Cardiff Devils. The donation includes many shoulder pads which they can make plenty use of in training.

Care4Calais is a volunteer run charity that supports asylum seekers who have been placed across South Wales. The charity has been given clothes for both adults and children which can help the many displaced in Wales. It is a lovely way to give the costumes a new purpose to a community that needs it.

Lastly, we donated to a charity called Working Wardrobes which focuses on breaking down barriers when it comes to unemployment. Rich from Moxie People told us that donations are important as it creates ‘a sense of self-esteem’ which is really important during the pandemic as many have found themselves without a job. The suits that have been donated are going to a wonderful cause that will impact the community positively!
